Getting Started with Inversions

Modified on Fri, 22 May at 5:54 AM

The FeetUp Trainer makes headstands accessible for everyone — regardless of experience level. Unlike a traditional headstand, the Trainer supports your shoulders and takes all pressure off your head and neck, so you can focus entirely on finding your balance.

Start against a wall

For your first sessions, practice with your back close to a wall. This eliminates any worry about tipping or falling backwards and helps you build confidence quickly. Little by little, as you feel more comfortable, you can move away from the wall and practice freely. You can also practice with a partner nearby for extra reassurance.

The most important thing is to move slowly and listen to your body as it adapts to being upside-down.

What about handstands?

The FeetUp Trainer supports headstands and FeetUp inversions, not handstands. While they share similarities, they are different movements — a handstand requires significant shoulder strength and flexibility to balance on the hands. That said, regular practice with the FeetUp Trainer builds the core strength, body awareness, and comfort with inversion that forms a solid foundation for handstand training over time.
